The LGBTQI community has a limited visual record, or none at all, of significant Queer events before the 1970s, particularly in the histories of Queers of color and transgender people.

After four and a half years leading the Board of the LGBT Community Center, I stepped down as of the end of June (two and a half years later than I had originally intended). Sally Jesmonth, who co-chaired this year’s Soiree, has stepped up to lead the Board as co-Chair, and she will be joined by Nicholas Gonzalez this month.
