  • Address:
SF LGBT Center, 1800 Market Street, 94102 California 94102

The SF LGBT Center will host an opening reception for the current gallery exhibition Queer Ancestors Project on Friday, August 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Artists will be in attendance. The Queer Ancestors Project is devoted to forging sturdy relationships between LGBTQI people and our ancestors. Using history as a linchpin, they build community by providing emerging Queer and Trans artists free interdisciplinary workshops in printmaking, writing, and Queer history.

The Center's gallery reception is part of a three-gallery ArtWalk, in conjunction with Creative Labor and Queer Cultural Center. The ArtWalk, which begins at the Center and moves to ArtSavesLives and Strut, will kick off Creative Labor's Queer Open Studios weekend. Queer Open Studios will take place the following day at six locations throughout San Francisco, including at the SF LGBT Center from noon until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12
