As part of our holistic programming serving the LGBT community, the Center participates in a continuum of care that addresses the health and wellness needs of our community.
The Information & Referral (I&R) Services program is the cornerstone of our broad health services, serving as a one-stop entry point for a wide variety of health issues and services. With more than 2000 people visiting the Center in person each week, I&R responds to hundreds of walk-in, telephone, and e-mail requests for information each month. A particular need in the community is being met by our I&R Services, as the Center continues to be an approachable environment for LGBT individuals and families seeking support.
We also operate SNAP, the San Francisco Newcomer's Assistance Program , which is designed to assist gay and bisexual men who have recently moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. SNAP encourages community-building as well as HIV/STD prevention through services which provide assistance with housing, employment and other practical issues; counseling; support groups; social activities; and a "buddy system" connecting newcomers with established community members.

The Center is also proud to collaborate with a number of outstanding agencies and organizations in San Francisco. In addition to our valuable work with the San Francisco Department of Public Health, we've enjoyed working with The San Francisco Gay Men's Community Initiative, Shanti, AIDS Health Project, AGUILAS, Magnet, and more. We continually seek new opportunities to support the health of our full and diverse community.
The Center periodically offers workshops on topics as varied as body image, domestic violence, gender roles and equality, and relationships. We're also pleased to host events in the Center like recovery meetings, yoga classes, smoking cessation classes, town hall discussions on alcohol and drug abuse in our communities.
