We strive to foster knowledge and pride of the diversity of our language, culture, history and spirituality. AGUILAS is committed to developing programs that promote health, well being and community building that foster positive self-identities, healthy relationships and leadership skills.

BAAIT-S
Bay Area American Indian Two-Spirits (BAAIT-S) is a community-based volunteer organization offering culturally relevant activities for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex Native Americans, their families and friends. Two-Spirit refers to the commonly shared notion among many Native American tribes that some individuals naturally possessed and manifested both a masculine and feminine spiritual qualities. American society commonly identifies Two-Spirit People as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual or Transgender. Bay Area American Indian Two-Spirits comes together to socialize, share and network in an alcohol and drug-free environment.
Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom
Founded in 1980, BALIF is the nation's oldest and largest regional bar association of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgendered persons in the field of law. BALIF members and supporters include San Francisco Bay Area judges, lawyers, law students and legal workers. BALIF serves to take action on questions of law and justice that affect the LGBT community; strengthen professional and social ties among LGBT members of the legal profession; build coalitions with other legal organizations to combat all forms of discrimination; promote the appointment of LGBT attorneys to the judiciary, public agencies and commissions in the Bay Area; and provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information of concern to members of the LGBT legal community.
The California LGBT Tobacco Education Partnership
(LGBT Partnership) strives to reduce the devastatingly high smoking within California's LGBT communities. Some of the ways it is doing this is by working in coalition with diverse tobacco policy groups across the state, partnering with LGBT elected officials from Chico to San Diego to resist tobacco industry donations, creating policy to reduce availability of tobacco products in LGBT neighborhoods and working with Pride Boards to create more smoke-free and litter-free spaces for all LGBT people at outdoor Pride events.
Freedom From Tobacco
A project of the Center that works to help our community reduce its exposure to smoking and secondhand smoke. One way we do this is by raising awareness about the impact of homophobia, tobacco company marketing and other factors upon our high rate of smoking.
Last Drag
The Last Drag provides free quit-smoking classes for LGBT and HIV+ smokers. Classes are held at the San Francisco LGBT Community Center in order to provide a program where people can quit smoking in a supportive group setting. These free classes are led by a highly experienced clinic leader certified by the American Lung Association.
San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus
SFMGC is the world's first openly gay men's chorus. It was founded by Jon Sims and made its first public appearance on the steps of San Francisco City Hall on November 27, 1978, the night that Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk were assassinated. In 1981, SFGMC embarked on its historic National Tour, which led to the formation of more than 200 gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and allied choruses worldwide. Today its members serve as musical ambassadors for the gay and allied communities performing in San Francisco and beyond.
