Shah Seidz

"Shah from the get go was a pleasure to work with. He began at our Cyber Center and quickly moved into opportunities supporting events like Soiree, our Cyber Center Reopening, helping out during Give Out Day and most recently being a staple member of our I&R team being one of two volunteers that do two shifts a week. Shah quickly became a member of the Center's family and we love having him here! Whether he's bartending at one of our events or helping people navigate resources, Shah puts all of his amazing energy into the work he does and I am incredibly happy to have him be our Volunteer of the Month."- Felipe Flores, Community Programs Coordinator

Interview with Volunteer of the Month - Shah:

  • The Center:What is most memorable to you about your time at the Center?
  • Shah:What is most memorable to me is the one on one interactions that I have with the many individuals i meet at the I&R desk listening their stories and helping them find solutions to various situations whether good or bad helps me experience and learn things i might never get the chance to be subjected to.
  • The Center:Why should others volunteer with the Center?
  • Shah:I feel that more people should volunteer with the center because it is the right thing to do. Without volunteers alot of free services and information wouldn't be readily available for people. Also you learn so much by stepping out of your world and doing something for someone when they are truly in need.
  • The Center:What is the most rewarding thing about being an I&R Specialist?
  • Shah:What is most rewarding to me is seeing a smile on the many faces as they leave the center after they have been helped through a referral, having an open ear to talk to or being acknowledged by a simple hello. I really don't volunteer for the rewards I volunteer because i believe in giving back to more then just myself.
  • The Center: Thanks Shah, so much for volunteering with us. I think your story will inspire other people to give back. We want to invite all volunteers to get involved in our ever growing Information & Referral Program. Our Information & Referrals Specialists are at the heart of everything we do here at the Center and it really is the most engaging and fulfilling volunteering opportunity we currently have available. We can always use more folks and we would love to have you join our team!
