The SF LGBT Center & Queer Cultural Center present:

</3 by Appendix Collective

</3 is a curation of individual and collaborative works that examine the unspoken process of heartaches in relationship to our lovers, families, work, home, neighborhoods and ancestral stories of colonial trauma. This exhibition explores the intersections of a </3: how the text emoticon is part of an alternative language production that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries, how it builds space via visual technology to assuage the heartbreak of transnational existence, and how its inarticulable affective connotations relate to resistance, healing and regenerative practices.

Appendix Collective is a Bay Area collective of Asian American womxn + queer artists reclaiming personal, intimate and diasporic narratives of intergenerational memory and trauma. Appendix Collective's sponsor organization is Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center.
