Volunteer Application

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the San Francisco LGBT Community Center! Completing this application is the first step to joining our volunteer team. The application will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. 

All new volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application and attend a volunteer orientation. The minimum age to volunteer is 16 years old, and many roles require the volunteer to be 18 or older.

Whether you’re interested in one-day or recurring volunteer duties, we would love for you to join our growing team in one or more of the following capacities:

Welcome Desk
Welcome visitors to the Center and learn skills to respond to information inquiries and requests for referrals.

Information & Referral
Similar to Welcome Desk role, with additional training and a focus on research, responding to requests for referrals, and providing peer to peer resource navigation.

Administrative Support
Help with data entry and mailing parties.

CyberCenter Computer Lab
Assist visitors in accessing our free internet and printing services in the public CyberCenter.

Special Events 
Provide day-of assistance with special events at the Center, from greeting and ushering to setup and breakdown.

Outreach
Share information about the Center's services with our community at tabling events and resource fairs.

Job Club/Employment Services
Help coach job-seekers through the hiring process, from resume to interview.

Queer Youth Meal Night/Youth Services
Serve queer youth a hot meal at Meal Night.

Internship
We are happy to work with folks interested in an internship experience who bring specific and project-oriented proposals. Our ability to take on an intern is affected by alignment of the proposal, timing, and capacity.
