Queer & Well Presents Bi The Way: Embodied Connections Workshop
When: Thursday, June 12th | 6-7:30pm
Where: In-Person, SF LGBT Center
About: Queer & Well is bringing back Bi-The-Way!
Whilst the “B” in LGBTQ+ is often said to make up the largest percentage of people, bisexual folks can feel left out of the queer conversation. Join us in honoring and celebrating all of our fluid identities at this very special Queer & Well series. Join us every other month for workshops featuring different Bi+ facilitators and small group discussion with others in our community. Our intention is for folks to leave feeling more connected to themselves and the bi+ community and gain a new perspective on the power of existing beyond binary ideas.
June 12th – 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM – Embodied Connections Workshop: A Bi+ Exploration Through Movement and Story with Bear
This session is designed to create a safe and playful environment for participants to explore their identities, connect with others, and share personal stories through movement and drama therapy techniques (no experience required). The focus will be on the Bi+ experience, fostering connection and curiosity through embodied exercises.
Bear holds an MFA in Dance and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Psychology/Drama Therapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). His work with elders living with dementia incorporates action-based therapeutic modalities that emphasize co-regulation, acceptance, and the healing potential of movement. Bear’s studies focus on using expressive arts therapies to promote transformation, both within individuals and within the broader LGBTQIA+ community.
As a facilitator of group healing, Bear is dedicated to helping people tap into their inner strength, express their authentic selves, and build meaningful connections within the queer community. He believes that through shared movement and collective vulnerability, individuals can unlock their fullest potential—both in their personal evolution and in their relationships with others.
