Queer & Well x The Optimist Collective: Bi The Way with Julia Serano
Where: In-person, SF LGBT Center
When: August 17, 2023, 5:30-7 pm PT
About: Bi The Way: Discussion with Julia Serano. Three of the most pervasive bisexual stereotypes are that we’re “hypersexual,” that Bi+ men are “really gay” and Bi+ women “really heterosexual,” and that we supposedly “infiltrate” both straight and gay/lesbian communities. In this discussion, Julia will show how all of these stereotypes are interconnected and draw upon our unconscious presumptions about “contamination” and “purity.”
