
QWOCMAP Film Festival: Centerpiece Screening “Gathering Sweetness”

About: For QWOCMAP’s 19th anniversary Festival, “Forever Rooted,” join us for a Center-sponsored screening of GATHERING SWEETNESS, clusters of intimacy and loving connection, from abundant queer Black love intertwined with grief to a celestial romance and Latinx and South Asian women coming of age, the vibrant fruiting bodies of these films exude queer joy and community.
All films are subtitled for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing and Audio Described for the Blind and Low Vision, and ASL interpretation will be provided along with many other forms of accessibility.
The Center is excited to sponsor the screening of Lavender, A Lesbian Love Story, by Jordana Allen-Shim.
Synopsis: A South Asian woman wavers between a lavender marriage to appease her family and a flourishing true love.
