Whether you’re looking for your first job, interested in changing careers or advancing in your current role, the Center’s can support you in accomplishing your goals. We see employment as basic right for LGBT individuals and supporters in order to increase financial health and build assets over time. The Center offers a range of services, events, and workshops tailored to support participants’ job searches, to offer networking opportunities with potential employers and to connect to further training opportunities. In addition, the Center is proud to offer the nation’s first transgender employment program, TEEI

From resume review to negotiating a starting salary, the Center offers professional, tailored, and LGBT friendly support for job seekers to find the right job that suits their qualifications and meets their needs.

Participants have the opportunity to meet with an employment specialist who will review their goals, assess their needs and work with them to develop a concrete action plan to get back to work or advance in thieir career.

Thursdays from 3 pm to 4:30 pm

Job Ready 101 is a job readiness group open to job-seekers of all orientations, identities and communities. It focuses on three basic but integral areas:
1. Resume writing and review
2. Cover letter writing and review
3. Interview preparation and mock interviews

Job Ready 101 also features special guest volunteers who work professionally in hiring and recruiting to provide focused support. Please feel free to bring a copy of your resume, cover letter or even a copy of the job description of the job you are planning to apply to.

Our signature career fairs provide a professional networking forum for employers and job seekers to connect, network and gauge employment opportunities. With over 25 job fairs produced to date and over 5,000 community members in attendance, the LGBT Career Fair Series is one of the longest running programs. The Center produces annual diversity recruitment and networking fairs, which feature employers and community partners, large and small, throughout the Bay Area.
