Queer & Well x The Optimist Collective: Bi The Way with Mel Andrada
Where: In-person, SF LGBT Center
When: Sep 21, 2023, 5:30-7 pm PT
About: Celebrate Bi / Pan / Fluid / Queer Visibility with us for Bi+ Visibility Month! This month, Melissa Andrada (Mel – she/they) will guide joyful expressive art and movement practice to celebrate the fullness of who you are.
The intention of this workshop is to support you in:
- Building authentic bi / pan / fluid / queer / multi-gender loving community + allies
- Celebrating and being seen in your unique sexual expression
- Calling in more of your dreams, and planting seeds to manifest them
We welcome your creativity and authenticity! No artistic or movement experience required. This will hopefully feel like a fun and joyful space to be yourself. Come as you are.
About Mel
As a queer Filipina American born in Nigeria who came to the States as an undocumented immigrant, Mel brings a highly sensitive approach to facilitation.
Alongside her community work as a healer and yoga teacher, Mel is an independent DEI & Mental Health Strategic Consultant, Workshop Facilitator and Leadership Coach for workplaces that have included Amazon, Target and DocuSign. She frequently gives interactive keynotes across the globe, focused on resourcing marginalized communities (BIPOC, queer, women/nonbinary) at organizations that have included Out in Tech, Women of Color in Tech and the UK Government.
They co-lead the Queer Yoga Collective at the studio Arise in Oakland, and are currently pursuing a part-time Masters in Expressive Arts Therapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies.
When Mel isn’t studying or working, she can be found surfing mellow waves, cooking decadent meals and writing essays on grief and what it means to be human.
